This is after 19 January 2038, 03:14:07 UTC. Systems that store time as a signed 32-bit number can’t hold it.

About the Timestamp Converter
A Unix timestamp counts the seconds since 1 January 1970 at 00:00 UTC. Computers use it to store a moment without time zone confusion. This converter shows the current time in your own time zone, turns any timestamp into ISO 8601, RFC 2822 and readable dates, and turns a date and time in any time zone back into a timestamp.
How to use it
- 1 Paste a timestamp. Seconds, milliseconds, microseconds and nanoseconds are detected from the number of digits.
- 2 Or pick a date, a time and a time zone to get its timestamp.
- 3 Copy any format, or see the same moment in other cities in the world clock.
Frequently asked questions
Is a timestamp in seconds or milliseconds?
Unix time is in seconds (10 digits today). JavaScript and many APIs use milliseconds (13 digits). Some databases and logs use microseconds (16) or nanoseconds (19). The converter detects all four, or you can pick the unit.
Does a Unix timestamp have a time zone?
No. It always counts from UTC, so the same timestamp is the same moment everywhere. The time zone is applied only when the timestamp is shown as a date.
Which time zone does the converter use?
It starts in your browser’s time zone, for example Asia/Dhaka (UTC+6) in Bangladesh. You can switch to any IANA time zone, and the result follows daylight saving time automatically.
How do I get the timestamp for a date in another time zone?
Choose the time zone first, then pick the date and time. The tool reads that wall-clock time in the chosen zone and gives you the matching Unix timestamp.
What is the year 2038 problem?
Systems that store Unix time as a signed 32-bit number overflow on 19 January 2038 at 03:14:07 UTC. Modern systems use 64-bit numbers, which last for billions of years.
What is the difference between ISO 8601 and RFC 2822?
ISO 8601 (2026-10-19T09:30:00+06:00) is used by APIs, JSON and databases. RFC 2822 (Mon, 19 Oct 2026 09:30:00 +0600) is used in email headers and older HTTP headers.
