Compress Image to 100 KB
Make a JPG, PNG, or WebP image smaller than 100 KB for an online form, email, or website. Set the exact pixel size if the form asks for one. Your images never leave your device.
75–85% usually looks the same as the original.
Transparent areas become white.

Where 100 KB limits come up
A 100 KB limit is common for application photos, profile pictures, and scanned ID cards. If the form also gives a pixel size, choose “Exact width × height” so only the quality changes. The result is at most 100,000 bytes, so it passes whether the form counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes.

About the Image Compressor
The image compressor makes image files smaller by re-encoding them at a lower quality and, when needed, fewer pixels. Set a target such as 50 KB and it finds the best quality that fits, which is what online job, exam, and visa forms ask for.
How to use it
- 1 Choose “To a file size” and enter the limit, or choose “By quality”.
- 2 If the form gives a pixel size, pick “Exact width × height”.
- 3 Drop in your images, compare before and after, then download.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression happens in your browser, so your images stay on your device.
How does compressing to a target size work?
The tool tries quality levels until the file is as large as it can be without going over your limit, so it looks as good as possible. Only if even low quality is too big does it reduce the pixel size too.
Is 1 KB 1000 or 1024 bytes?
Forms differ, so the tool uses the stricter 1 KB = 1000 bytes. A “50 KB” result is at most 50,000 bytes and passes either check. Sizes on screen use 1024, like Windows does.
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Save as WebP or PNG to keep them.
Does compressing remove location data?
Yes. Re-encoding drops the photo’s metadata, including GPS location and camera details. Rotation from the camera is applied first, so the image stays upright.
What quality setting should I use?
Around 75–85% usually looks the same as the original while cutting the file size a lot. Use Compare to check before downloading.
Which format is smallest?
WebP is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, but some forms only accept JPG. PNG is lossless, so it only gets smaller by resizing.
